TRAJECTORIES
Infrastructural Study, 2008
The freeway system, often the ultimate symbol of the constantly evolving city of Los Angeles, is itself in a state of evolution. In a time when the city is struggling to deal with population growth, the freeway system has begun to reflect its tendency towards verticality. The result is a set of fantastic spatial conditions that wrap themselves through and around the major transportation corridors. We are drawn to the tremendous scale of its infrastructural network, the simultaneous exposure of its sectional properties and its spatial qualities, and above all, to its optimistic sense of expectancy.
